These are Goodman package heat pumps.
Yes, it IS flex. No paper-mache this time.
I guess they didn't notice that vent until it was too late.

I kept looking for a '57 Chevy.....

I was assigned to survey the HVAC for a renovation that's in the planning stages. They wanted to know what they could keep, LOL. The roof is also really spongy in places, and the property has poor access in back and is lousy with power lines and poles. Don't think they're gonna like the estimates.....

This has to be the winner for the year so far! I mean who the hell could screw something up that badly and get away with it! The "techs" that did that seriously must have a car in the front yard of their trailer lot on blocks.

Not that there is anything wrong with that.

I love the flexible flip flop transition. That flex would have to last about 2 months. I thought that I had seen it all!

All the hackery came from one tenant.

I think they have a contract with the world-renowned mechanical contractors Larry Darryl & Darryl, LLC.
And maybe they subbed it out to Brother & Law.

This one makes Dewey Cheatem & Howe look like amateurs.

Glad y'all are enjoying.

I don't know if there is such a thing as a "Wall of Shame 2006 Top 10," but this pic definitely comes in first place, and the year isn't even close to over yet. I think the runner up is a distance 2nd place... I'm almost afraid to ask, what was the weather shield made from, another dead RTU?

I get to work on trash like that every day! For a second I thought the other guy that works with me posted up some pics! There is a client we just picked up a couple months ago that has many buildings in the area with a roof that looks identical to that, maybe they used the same company for the install since ATL is only 4 hours away. My personal fav is the roof hatches that are chained shut from the inside and walls built around the ladders below so you cant even get to the chain to cut it! I can see I will have to get my camera back in action before we start tearing out the trash.

I don't know why you are all talking bad about that tech. He had the foresight to place a steel panel under that spent compressor in the foreground of the pic to protect the unit. Shows he really cares about his work...

On I-85 south

Just before the connector, there's a hotel on the right. You have to be stuck in traffic or really looking for it, but there's the conference center of the hotel.

There's at least one of the package units that has had another, smaller one put on top and ducted in. I think at the same hotel another one had the compressor go out and they replaced it with a new condensing unit and piped the new one into the existing evap coil.

I've mentioned it to people so they can look for it, but have never had the nerve to stop and take a picture.

I guess I'm jaded, but I will never say "Now I've seen it all." It takes a lot to surprise me now.

I try to stay OTP as much as I can. I have some hydronic customers in Morningside and NE of there.

That picture is quite similar to what I'm talking about at eh hotel....
