I got to thinking about those poor Hebrew slaves, back in the Bible account of The Children of Israel.
They were pressed into forsed labor to make bricks.
Then they were ordered to make the same quota but without the straw being provided and prepared for them in advance. In other words ... they had to go get it themselves and prepare it for their work..... yet keep up the same pace as before expected!
My job is like that to a "T".
This has upset so many people ... the tinner's crew chief just quit and he took with him the hardest working man on the entire project. (another tinner)
With both of them gone, there's no one left who speaks English on the crew.
And there's no lead member.
That's four that's quit in the last two weeks.
I guess this job is better than life in Goshen 3,000 years ago.
But the work is about the same.... go collect your own materials.
Prepare them for your work.
"Make the bricks".
A guy comes to me in the parking lot this morning before work. We had been on the same team until a new guy started so we knew each other's work habbits.
He says; "Bob ... I left my tools at home. Can I borrow your striker, tape measure and big tubing cutter?"
I must be a fool.
