Need a bit of help deciding what I should do.
My 2 ton Lennox AC was installed just over five years ago. It had a leaking evaporator coil (ADP HA01224C145B2522). It is out of warranty by two months. Two days ago, I was told that the outside condenser unit has a leak and two outside valves leaking as well.
One contractor told me that he can use a sealer to seal the leaks for $XXX - $XXX and then charge the unit with Freon and charge me for that. Would it make sense to go with this option?
I got two estimates to replace both evaporator coil in the attic (laying on the floor horizontal) and the complete outside unit. One for $XXXX and the other for $XXXX. Are these reasonable for Charlotte, NC? I know the evaporator coil costs $XXX or so. What would be reasonable cost to replace? Appreciate any suggestion.
Thanks.
(No pricing, due to site rules )
