I have a two stage furnace and a two stage condenser and am getting quotes for adding 2 zones. My equipment is Carrier Infinity but it seems even the Carrier dealers don't want to install Carrier's zoning system, so I'm trying to find a zoning system that works well with 2H/2C. I would like the staging to be controlled by the thermostats instead of timers and found the EWC UZC-4 and the Honeywell Truezone HZ322 control panels will do the trick. It is taking weeks to get quotes so I'd like to tell them the system I would prefer so we don't both waste each others time.

Does anyone have opinions on UZC-4 vs HZ322 for a two zone 2H/2C setup? I could use some help understanding if one is better then the other.

Thanks in advance.

Both will work...

Be SURE the guy you hire understands the brand they choose to install.

Note that probably less than 1/4 of licensed HVAC guys understand the first thing about zoning...
Which is PROPER DUCTWORK!
You cannot just add some dampers and a board and call it a zone system...
Probably half the ductwork is gonna have to be rebuilt.

Still want to do it??? :)

I normally set it up so the zone panel stages not the stats. That way the equipment doesn't go to high with 1 zone calling then short cycle to keep from overheating or freezing up. For Honeywell I use the 432 panel, never used EWC. Normally use Jackson ZP6.
