...in fact those degrees probably mean you cannot turn a screwdriver in the right direction.
Hmm..a little bit presumptuous and arrogant, aren't we. Let's see what I did during last 30 years of my life with my own hands:

- Completely remodeled my house, finished basement and build extra bath-room in it, stripped existing floors and installed new wood and ceramic floors, fixed all cracks in the basement walls the old fashioned way (NO US WATERPROOFING)
- Replaced several bad water tank heaters for my friends and family members
- Installed new condensing unit for my A/C
- 10 years ago when I moved to a larger house, threw away 2 50 gal gas heaters and re-plumbed everything for Tankless Water heater which was also installed with my own hands
- Well, of course, worked on my cars, changed brakes, starters, alternators and once rebuild the engine, though machining and honing was done by a nearby shop

Now, how is that screwdriver looks like, is it in shape of a spoon or it looks more like a tooth brush? Help me out here.

kenney t, trey r, Pascone10.

I could have responded to all of you in kind but I consider that it would be beneath me and in addition it would be a total waste of my precious time. Therefore I will just put all of you on my ignore list. You are welcomed to reciprocate.

Happy New Year

... yeah, it was funny and true in some cases
Dear Mr. Lusker, thanks for your support, however, unlike you, I do not think it was funny at all. Presumptuous, arrogant – no questions about that, - but clearly not funny. True in some cases, -probably - but definitely, not in mine. I have already forgotten what they did not even learn yet. I guess people judge other people based on their own insecurities and total lack of insight or wisdom.

I sincerely appreciate your invitation link and I’ll definitely give it a due consideration. However, at this point, (getting these kinds of responses from “your” guys) I am not sure if I would like to be a part of that carefully selected community.

Happy New Year to you

PS. Btw, I was never sarcastic toward you, maybe it was a bad choice of words or attempted humor, but definitely NO SARCASM was indented. I am also not sure about your assessment of cynicism in my posts. I can only tell you one thing, if a pro member start posting nonsense, I won’t be forgiving. If you qualify this as a display of cynicism then we have totally different views and I hope that I am mistaken because you seem to be a reasonable and fair man.

Is the title "guest" as in "New Guest" and "Regular Guest" new? I don't remember noticing it before today, but I don't remember the old honorific either, if it was different.
Yes sir. It was changed today.

There are no permission changes just the title. There is a distinct difference in a Guest and a Member with this being a professional forum. Until your credentials are accepted and you become a Professional Member then you are a guest in the house the Professional Members built.

With the changes coming to the site our house guests will be treated with respect and members will be reminded to show professionalism. It's a small change which I hope will bring big results.

well, why couldn't this have went on a little later inn the evening when all the moderators are tucked away:CU::angel::ghug:

This gentleman has been excused from our forum.

If he is predictable he will simply sign up as a new guest and rant about it. Predictability is common place with an overblown Ego.
I agree that this guy probably didn't have the life expectancy of a house fly in regards to staying in here, but I am a little disturbed at how quickly he was kicked out and for the reason. I personally like the occasional jerk and the fun that comes from it, but I can only assume the people running this site know what's best for it.

the guys who register then start complaining about how the site is run aren't much fun for me. there are too many like sites and they allow DIY. its not hard to find a site that floats your boat. become part of the community and then air your grievances.

For us simple minded folks:

Do I understand that 'New Member' and Regular Member' are no longer titles... rather: 'New Guest' and 'Guest' are the new titles for anyone that is not a 'Pro' member... THX

New Member is now New Guest
Regular Member is now Regular Guest

Only those who are allowed in the hidden areas of the site shall be called "Professional Member". All site staff will be clearly marked as such.

All Members should treat their house guests with respect and professionalism. Upon reading a post by a guest that doesn't conform to our site rules and policies the Professional member or other guest should use report post to notify our staff of the issue.

Replying to a guest in a rude manner or via verbal confrontation will result in infraction points against both offending parties. A guest that creates havoc on this site will not be welcomed here and will be escorted out.

Due to the uncontrolled and sometimes undeserved verbal attacks we are changing the way the site works. These changes will come one by one so everyone can get used to them.

I admit to having a problem with authority. I thinks it's American to do so, especially in cases where people just start "disappearing", or their voices. I get concerned at that point. I've never liked a person who tells someone else to shut up. I've been part of this community and I'm airing my grievance.

O--h--h--h….Great Almighty, inquiring minds will be patient but they still have couple burning questions. Why those minds (and some of them have pretty good heads on their shoulders with extensive knowledge and advanced degrees / education w/o actually being a part of your domain) have limited access, i.e. they can't read pro forums and they are being held on a short leash as if they are still in a kindergarten. What's up with that? Why such a discrimination?
Hi there.

You are acting like a kindergartener without much thought or comprehension of customer relations/business, diy-ing that people on this site can be held accountable in the event of some advanced degree holding, floor tiling, toilet scrubbing home owner gets info from here and accidentally burns his house to the ground (Gawd forbid with his entire family in it) so please stop with the pre and im- mature shoOting off of the mouth, your verbal ejaculations are silly at best and not well thought out and disgruntled like a child and not professional in any manner.

You have no business in the pro forums, not the hvacr pro forums at least.

Goodbye there.

He's already been kicked off the site.

An internet forum is not like the town square. There is no "right" to free speech. It is, as the new designations suggest (guests), more like a private club. One posts at the site owners pleasure and can be asked to leave. Many forums have made small videos that explain forum etiquette, and even though they have things in them that are specific to the subjects of each forum, I find that they explain how most work pretty well. They are also very funny. I offer up these links in the interest of education and humor:

And as an aside, fellow homeowners: with respect to providing enough information for pros to help you- fill out your profile. Letting everyone know where you live will allow for far more focused answers. What will work in New England is very different from what works in Florida, Texas or Washington state. The model number of the unit you are asking about is usually needed by the pros. Get a flashlight and look for it. (suggestion: take a cell phone photo of the nameplate and blow it up on a larger screen to make reading little numbers easier) And finally realize that these guys can only help you out in the most general of ways. There are fix it sites, this is not one of them. But they can tell you if the tech you are using is barking up the wrong tree. Or help you spend wisely when replacing a system. Just reading existing threads will teach you a lot. Just reading of others troubles and triumphs has taught me what to ask my own tech and the techs of my clients. Being informed is very powerful.

He's already been kicked off the site.
No he hasn't. Lusker is doing exactly how he describes and expects us professional members to treat house guests, with respect and professionalism. Op's title is still regular guest and not banned.

He hasn't done anything to be banned outside of be slightly annoying, like a kid who can't get into the bar to drink with the adults.

Fitting. :)
