My Dad was just diagnosed via cat scan and MRI of having a tennis ball size malignant tumor on his lung and vertebrae. If youve had Chemo or Radiation for a malignant tumor, what side effects did you experience ? How large was it to begin with and how long did it take to go away ? Thank you.

Well I don't know. But I was in Houston yesterday in a spinal rehab hospital. I met a young man, 21 years old. He had tumors against his spine and other places. It paralyzed him. He is near walking again after 2 months of therapy. I never ask him what they did about the tumors, but I will when I go back to Houston Thursday. I will reply then. Good luck Roy

my wife's girlfriend (42) had about 1/3 of her right lung removed due to cancer (tumors) last year. she went through the surgery first and then some pretty rough chemo-therapy. she lost almost all of her hair and was S-I-C-K from the chemo. the chemo was pretty bad. but so far so good for her. she's cancer-free now. they test her every few months right now and she is doing and feeling well.

you Dad will be in my thoughts. good luck.

My Mom had a tumor on her breastbone, I think that's what it's called. The bone that runs down the center of your chest. It was slow growing. Doc back home said leave alone. Docs when they moved to Indy suggested radiation but gave it a 20% change of working. But it did and shrunk right down. Only side effect was sunburn on her chest.

Later breast cancer returned and she had chemo. She was very weak, lost her hair but wasn't violently ill.
