Well after alot of research, proding around, and another A/C break down we decided it was time to bite the bullet and have a new system installed. After reading these forums and the advice I have read from dash to other members we decided to go with a Carrier Infinity System. Install will be next Tuesday and I HOPE to be able to post the pics in the 'Wall of Pride' forum.

<hint> I hope you tell the installer to make it look nice and pretty dash :) <hint>

yea, no pressure dash, no pressure at all :p

I told the tech that there is two possibilites, either the job ends up in the 'Wall of Shame' or in the 'Wall of Pride' so make sure it looks nice. But in all seriousness I was down to going between two different companies and dash's expertise and professionalism on this board was the deciding factor for going with Bay Area Air Conditioning.

it BETTER end up in the wall of pride or he'll get a ribbing.
It would have to be a Ruud Mod. system to end up on the wall of pride, after all we do have a standard there. :D

Good plan

I think you are doing the right thing. I completely admire the way Dash tells us stuff on this board, and wish he were operating in the region where I live.

Best of luck -- P.Student

Curious???

Wonder how many times this site has paired up contractors and homeowners along with commentaries/photos in the discussion area? Is this new territory or maybe I haven't been paying attention? Kind of like an HVAC "e-haromony" dating/pairing-up service! I have no doubt dash's word is his bond and their firm will do a great install. Greg

I took some before shots as I'm getting ready for tomorrows install. I removed two bushes from the sides of the compressor and also cleaned the garage out to make it easier for them to get into the attic. I was surprised about the amount of water in the drip pan and also under the flexible duckwork stuff.
