Working on a 30ton trane split.liquid line valve.has 2 ports 1 has cond fan switch the other just a cap. I tried to back seat but didn't close off to put gauges on.any ideas

Is the port your working on on the front seat or the backseat? Some king valves/or service valves have a port for a pressure switch or whatever that will remain open when the valve is front seated but the opposing port will be closed and vise versa did someone put the pressure switch on the wrong port? If it's just a worn out valve replace it, if you or the customer are to lazy or cheap to replace it you "could" add a brass access fitting onto the port with a sh valve core in it....
If the liquid line service valve is fully backseated, the fan cycle switch will not bring the condenser fans on. If this is an RAUC, there's a relief valve downstream of the service valve; the relief valve opens at 235 psi, and is piped directly to the liquid line service valve in question.
