Does anyone have an opinion on why these actuators are so noisy? I've installed a good amount of these and it's usually hit or miss as to how much noise they'll make when they stroke. I have taken one apart to gain a better understanding of it's inner workings. There is a hydraulic pump that sits submerged in oil. It seems as though the noise only occurs when the pump is activated to position the valve stem. The only problem is that the noise doesn't end there. The only time there is no noise is when the actuator has a zero signal in the fully retracted position. Unfortunately we have several located in an office environment and the noise is unacceptable. It looks as though I'll have to replace these with a Bellimo retrofit that provides feedback as well.
Any thoughts????????????
