is that duct board? Two fails in one pic
Ductboard is used a lot here in TX. But, that's NOT the way it should be used.
I think it's criminal.
That there is what you would call an "active damper". lol

Combustibles in the duct work. No smoke rating on the material. FAIL!!! No questions about that.
"passed" ?
"passed code" ???? No, but it may have passed inspection. A 'code inspection' is a line item exhaustive inspection. This may have been an oversite but could not have been deliberately passed by an AHJ with a pulse. Sure, they pass some stupid stuff but this.....
Passing an inspection does not make a shoddy installation 'code compliant'. It just remains a testament to the inspectors poor eyesight or lack of time/ unwillingness to get in there and inspect it.
