Greetings,
Will the AX OPM Driver work at a Jace N4 + Serial Port. Or is there a new driver around. If No & NO, any suggestions?
Thank you for any advice.

99% sure the AX driver isn't going to carry over.

I was going to look at my spreadsheet but O365 just disappeared on me.

Isn't that just modbus anyway?

Edit; Lynxspring lists the driver. Not sure who's behind it though.

JENE-PC8000 Driver
DR-MCQUAY-N4 McQuay driver to OPM driver.

Thank you. Will check out Lynxspring. Will also investigate MODBUS possibility. I know Field-server had an older gateway.. isn't their product often MODBUS translation.

Tridium lists the driver as DR-MCQUAY (McQuay driver to OPM driver) and Johnson also has it listed as FX-SC8LMCQ-6 (License enabling McQuay® driver to OPM driver).

Chipkin up in CA also has a FieldServer the older McQuay protocol, below is info. I have them currently on an OPM with 16 or so SCU's into a Carrier i-Vu. Have also used them on a CSC in the past.

Not following...McQuay to OPM - isn't that what the MicroTech OPM device provides. We need a driver that goes from OPM to BACnet.

The site has an AX with what I would call the "XDRIVER" (from Andover) with serial connection to a MicroTech OPM device. Do not know what driver is installed. AX has unknown credentials, 2016 install. The connection provides read-only access to the points programmed at the AX, but no write. Rest of site is N4 so figured would just replace the AX with N4 + SerialPort +Driver. But nothing states that the drivers out there will work on an N4-Jace. We are just writing a spec for the Owner to pass to controls contractor so don't want to spec something that doesn't work.

Back-door means that we assume the platform credentials are defaults and then use backup/edit-station/restore to gain access? This also assumes that we have an AX WB that is brand compatible with HW CP600E.
While an interesting project.. to what end? If we could edit the station program to restore write-access to McQuay control points, then we defer the upgrade project. Eventually the AX has to go, but so do those McQuay Microtech-1 RTs. Needless to say, been going back & forth on best plan forward.

The upgrade estimate for a new JACE with RS232 & Driver ain't cheap. Best find out the expected remaining life on the RTs!

Also would like to find out if anybody has done an OPM MT-1 integration with N4. The FieldServer driver may be the way to go on that.

all ideas much appreciated

You can reset the platform creds if you don't have them. And then you can go after the station credentials if you don't know them either. You should at a minimum be able to look at the jace with any same version AX workbench. There's threads here discussing that, look around.

Purchased Chipkin's FieldServer BACnet/IP Gateway for McQuay OPM. We need to provide point specs which we have. Comes with power supply w/plug and DIN rail... plug & play?
Do not have to test yet... but if it works then solution is way easier & cheaper than a JACE & Serial port.

I would describe Chipkin/MSA/Safety Company FieldServer/Protonode devices as the polar opposite of plug and play. Most of the boiler companies seem to either have dropped them or have gotten their shipping configurations straight. All the other areas I'm encountering these it's not been fun, and labor hours can easily eat up any device savings.

MaxBurn - you were right regarding Field-Server not plug & play. And the manuals weren't so hot. While Chipkin support was ver responsive, didn't have confidence in their technical knowledge! I was determined & got it working (although 1/6 RTs not accepting writes via JACE yet).

Have couple other Andover w/McQuay OPM sites to upgrade this summer, so would still like to know, if anybody hears, if there is a Tridium N4 OPM driver.

As always- gratitide for those providing support here at HVAC-TALK!
