Customers not seeing the dollar value in manual j d and s. In low static, big filters and duct modifications. No matter how much you talk and show pictures and testimonials it comes down to “bob was $1500 cheaper.”

Every single time.

You’ll find maybe one in ten people actually appreciate your skills and knowledge, the other nine just want a cheap price.

You’re only screwing yourself by not giving it to them.

No

You can discount a little bit or help customers find cheaper part that isn't much worse and works, but never compromise that much on price because you got bills to pay.

When they call you at 3am because their ac crapped out and they're dying in 120 degree heat, because their cheap contractor screwed up, you'll have work.

Customers learn very fast to not cheap out of hvacr work when their sanity is on the line.

My problem is not having enough clients. And the local competition can be tough to stand out against.
Some folks on another forum (not HVAC related) suggested using digital billboards. It got me interested. I found a site, *********, where you can advertise on these billboards for less than $1 per play.

I'm curious about others' opinions. Are they worth the cost? Would appreciate any insights or feedback.

Collect personal phones at starting time in the morning. Issue restricted company phones for work hours use. At quitting time they turn in company phones and retrieve personal phone.

My biggest issue beside my constant fatigue is finding good colleagues. Everyone is searching for a high salary, but all they want is scrolling on social media the whole day, and someone else to do their job instead.

I do Service/Repair/Troubleshooting. I started my Business in 1979. I find it amazingly easy to get new customers, due to the quality of the service techs that attempted to work on their HVACR equipment. I get my customers from 'word of mouth' advertising. Best investment ever.

My competitors do not dictate to me how I work or how much I charge for parts/labor. My 'success'( Some of my customers call me Mr.Broken Clock because I am correct only 2 times a day) in fixings abused /mis-used/damaged equipment/dirty HVACR keeps me independent. Most of my competitors actually help me a lot, by getting me new customers.
