Bard exterior wall mounts obsolete? Mini Splits the way of the future?

Do you think Bard exterior wall mount systems will become obsolete? Currently have a client with 3 very old Bard units and am debating on changing to mini splits. Anyone have any thoughts on the future of bard systems? They are becoming increasingly harder to obtain not to mention parts for them. I am curious to hear other thoughts on ideas for the future. The price of these systems has gone up greatly and take longer and longer to get each time. To me it seems mini split systems are a better way to do. I should also mention wall repair is not a concern in this thought. Please give honest opinion based on your experiences and or problems with these units. I truly feel Bard exterior wall mount systems will continue to be hard obtain and likely be obsolete in the next 10-20 years. What do you think?

I dont see them being obsolete, they are making necessary changes to deal with current standards and their use for mobile/temporary storage and office space isn't going away so they will always have a place in the the market. Everything is getting harder to get.

Thank you for you opinion. May I ask if you had to decide to replace 1 Bard for $ or change out all 3 systems to mini split for $ which way would you go? I'm leaning on suggesting mini splits at least then they won't have to worry about changing a filter. That and they can replace all 3 for the price of 2 bard systems.

If the structure is permanent mini splits. Mobile/temp location Bard.

I am getting rid of them and going to mini splits. Efficiency is a big thing but the "instant" feel they get when it turns on and you get that blast of conditioned air. They are overly grateful and notice a "big" difference.

Ask the manufacturer what's available. Most times, they have standard units in stock....but if you want economizer, dehumidification, or other options, they may have to build it.
