Hello Everyone,
We have a 2 + year old Goodman system which recently was serviced for Evaporator coil drain pan recall by a contractor provided by Goodman. Our system was working fine, but I noticed a few weeks ago it was cycling too often while heating. I wanted to address this issue after the service for the coil drain pan recall would be completed.
Four days ago our unit stopped heating for the first time (3 days after a technician installed a kit provided by Goodman for the recall). It happened during the night. The system was still cycling for some time but there was no heat coming from it, our temperature dropped to 67 (we keep it at 72-74). I checked both of our thermostats, turned them on and off - no reaction. As a move of desperation I went to our electrical panel and reset the breaker for the furnace even though it was not tripped. The system turned on, started heating, and it was not short cycling for ~ 12 hours (!). Then short cycling resumed. Tonight it stopped heating again. I performed the same trick with the breaker and it is heating again without short cycling (for now).
I don't know if you are allowed to recommend people or companies here on forums. I apologize if it is not allowed. I just want to make sure that someone can fix this issue for us. Whatever is happening with our system makes no sense to me, but hopefully it will make sense to some knowledgeable specialist :anyone: . It works but short cycles, then it stops heating randomly, after I turn the furnace on and off it starts working again and does not short cycle for several hours - just works as it should be. Both times it stopped working was at night-early morning... maybe has something to do with a temperature drop
Thank you for your help!
