Your catch phrase could even be “now I am become death, destroyer of tstats.”

Actually, the superhero power would be the ability to generate targeted EM pulses, which would knock out enemy systems, without the need for a thermonuclear detonation.

So, TB...

Are you related to that babe in the Avengers... who can generate those force fields... and blow the enemies away???

:D

Well, if you combine the two and generate focused thermonuclear detonations, you can be absolutely sure that the enemy electronics would be inoperable. You could also moonlight as a glass maker and a modern artist who specializes in etching shadows on concrete walls.

You must mean my cousins, Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver. :grin2:

Nah, we’ll either call you Phony Stark or Voltron.

Do I get to choose who will be my Pepper Potts? :grin2:

other alternatives to the T6 ?
The T6 WiFi's are good. I know someone mentioned a problem with one but they are not part of the large scale issue.

My distributor says the T6 Series 5 should be in stock within three weeks. They tell me the issues are all fixed on the T6's with the series 5 designation.

I’m not a fan of the T6 or pro line. I’ve installed maybe 8 and two have failed on the fan circuit.
They have great all around features but that wimpy connection sub base with spring clips is ridiculously bad . Not installing anymore. The old line is much better with terminal screws.
5k and up.

The problem T6 PRO Wifi we had to deal with...
Turned out the be the part noted above in bold...
Other than the sub base... we have not had any issues.

I posted in the resi pro section of a heat pump with a T6 and reversing valve issue.

Maybe this is my issue and not as I thought in my post.

I did seem to have lesser voltage on O and/or voltage when I should not have.

Those are the symptoms I have seen over and over. A different model stat will likely fix your issue.

If the base was the only problem, I could get a bunch of bases and just move forward.

The testing I have done is without the base on the T6, using the probes directly on the pins that stick out of the back of the stat housing.

In order to test a Vision Pro, you need to attach wires to the base, and mate the stat to that base. The one issue with connection on a vision pro is that any wire out of place tends to hold that connector apart where the stat and base connect. It is a very small connector with fine contacts, and unless the connection is 100% pressed together, you will not have any outputs.

You could have extended your arm, as to shake hands, and simply said, yeah.

Would have been interesting to see the reaction.

My boss..... after expressing his surprise at the bad thermostat that the youngster had brought down for me to use .....said "I think that it's because of you.... you give off some sort of electrostatic charge or something that's ruining these thermostats," and I told him "yes....he's correct. I'm about to join the Avengers..... I'm going to be on the bottom of the totem pole right below Ant-Man."

"Van Der Graaf Man!"

I hated these stats when they came out. Nothing but issues with that connector, uneven wall, normal use, bumped, etc, all made that connection suspect. It was not always a complete failure, but maybe just the heat or fan did not work.

We had a meeting at a supply house with Honeywell. When asked how many people liked them and did not like them, I said they are junk due to the connection. Of course he said no other complaints.

Then came the new line of stats and they all had the pins.

Now, and this is the main reason for the post, the new 8000 have gone back to the pins!!!!!! :grin2::cheers::grin2::cheers:

I've been installing the t6 almost exclusively since it came out; I've not had a problem that I know of. I have one left of the last six I purchased, date code 1926. Mostly heat pumps, I'll be suspecting the stat on every call now. I'll sure be looking for something to replace them. Glad I read this. Thanks

We have installed them as well, mostly fuel and a/c not heat pumps.

Can you post some picks of the new 8000 pins?

The one I just installed had a small connector in the corner of the base.

We don't stock any, I just installed one a couple weeks ago, that's how I know. I know it was not an old style due to screen color and onboard "manual".

I'm away from work for until December. I can check then.

T6 is been a reliable thermostat i installed a lot of them and honestly never got a single problem
i rely on good quality a/c, parts and accessories to get more customer
no hassle for customers more referral for me
make sense ?
now if the T6 have some issues, that's mean customer complain and more call back

Until about two weeks ago, I have never had a problem with a Honeywell thermostat out of the box.

Of course, as discussed in this thread, they aren't really Honeywell thermostats anymore.
