Hi all,
Last October we had 2 Gree a/c units installed in a 2 bed condo. One outside unit powers the living room and the master bedroom. We were told due to the layout of the condo 1 unit could not do all 3 inside units due to length of cabling/effecieny. So we then got a small second outside unit to power the guest bedroom on its own.
As it was installed in Oct and the summer was pretty much over we never used it at all to cool.
We did use both units to heat throughout the winter months. The smaller guest bedroom has been great with no issues. The main unit however kept popping up with E 1 errors (about every 2 weeks or so) and needed the installer to come out and reset it. E1 meant pressure was too high but when he checked this is said it was fine. Regardless he let a bit out to lower it.
Now the summer is hitting and we have noticed the cooling on the main unit (living room and bedroom) is terrible.
We haven't had any more high pressure errors since switching from heating to cooling but here is what we have noticed.
If we set bedroom and guest bedroom to the same temperature then guest room feels an awful lot nicer. Even though both rooms can eventually reach the same desired temperature, the main bedroom takes an awful lot longer. Even when the temp is reached, there is a world of difference in how they feel. A humidity monitor showed the guest bedroom at 53% and the main bedroom at 78% despite being at the same temperature. We also find that the guest room shuts the fan down to almost silent, the main bedroom is always on a higher setting.
Likewise for the living room, it takes an age to cool and the humidity is a lot higher, the guest bedroom is perfect.
I took a thermometer to both vents and found that the guest bedroom can blow air out in the low 50s, the other two are low 60s.
The other issue we have is that sometimes the main bedroom just blows regular air when the a/c is turned on alone. It just goes in fan mode despite it being set to lower the temp. We have to then go turn on the living room ac on to make it 'kick in' and start blowing cold air in the bedroom.
Sorry this post isn't more technical, I'm a complete lay person.
Does anyone have any ideas at all what could be up with the system?
Thanks in advance.
