Probably 130-140, not exactly sure but felt about like that. How hot was it up there?
I've seen air handlers ratchet-strapped. :grin:It's permanent.
If it was a furnace/evap I would use blocks or all thread/unistrut but AHs are light and it's pretty sturdy. Doors go on easy so it's square (at least for now it is).I've seen air handlers ratchet-strapped.

The 4 and 5 ton air handlers tend to have problems when they're not properly supported. Those coils are effing heavy! If it was a furnace/evap I would use blocks or all thread/unistrut but AHs are light and it's pretty sturdy. Doors go on easy so it's square (at least for now it is).
I agree. The aluminum coil helps though. This one is a 2 ton ah. It's a baby. The 4 and 5 ton air handlers tend to have problems when they're not properly supported. Those coils are effing heavy!

Nah. That's when I get my best sleep. Attics really don't bother me that much, I think of it as sort of like a sauna at a health club. Now if it's 20 degrees or less outside I'm virtually useless because I'm frozen solid.I'd want to start at 4am, then knock off at noon.
The unit will fail before the strap does, it's not 1975 anymore.not hackish just not proper.
plumbing strap will fail long before uni-strut will.
The plumbing strap industry hasn't figured out planned obsolescence yet.The unit will fail before the strap does, it's not 1975 anymore.
