I have two questions too ask . The first will a robert shaw thermostat model 9801i2 vary a variable speed motor by dropping it to the lower setting to remove more latent heat.Or do I need to go a honeywell thermostat. Two I heard of a product on line that suppose to vary a condenser fan motor speed for use in low ambient temperature and for over size systems.I can see the use on a heat pump but how would it do any thing for an oversized compressor.Would dropping the speed of the air over the compressor make that much differences. Also what honeywell model thermostat would work with a variable speed motor.

I don't know of any thermostat that varies a condenser fan motor.
That robertshaw doesn't change condenser fan speed.

You have to use a low ambient, fan cycling kit.

The honeywell 8000 has a dehumidification setting, that when paired with an indoor that has dehumidification, can slow the blower down to whatever dehumidifcation mode is on the blower.

A condenser fan cycling or speed control isn't for over sized systems, they're for low outdoor ambient conditions where mechanical cooling is still required. They operate independently of the unit controls.
