Simple question...whats the best way to clean evaps...specifically when they're very dirty and have that nasty crap that doesn't brush off easily.

I've tried Evap fresh that no rinse stuff in a can but that didn't really work.
Afraid to use foaming coil cleaner cuz i don't wanna eat a hole in it or anything.

So what u think guys, C02, rinse, repeat?

reason i ask is cuz i had a freeze up call and my pressures were somewhat low and superheat was somewhat low...and the evap had sh*tty air flow thru it and looked nasty so i figured that had to be the cause of my freeze up

Well this coil had an issue... It was only a few years old but the fins on the back just crumble when u touch them

i use evap foam cleaner cans and then go over it with water.. works really well. i find the viper stuff doesnt work as well. but thats my opinion.

Some dope from another service company could have cleaned the coil with nubrite in the past and not rinsed it. Even though the evap produces condensate, the chemicals will remain on the surface for a while and do some damage.

That will turn the fins to mush as well.

I have used a plastic tarp sip screwed it to the wall behind the evap dropped/removed evap pan.Got a rubber made large trash can (55gal) with the detachable wheels/caddy bottom, directed the tarp into the can got the water hose and went to town.works really well on low velocity coils. keg coolers, floral coolers etc... can clean the snot out of keg coolers:cool::cool:

Conducting PM's at local supermarkets I actually come across their
in-house oven cleaner for the chicken cookers.

Surprisingly it did a great job ,, like the Coil Shine for outdoors...

Jasol is food grade which is great for inside boxes & the job it does well ,, I'm getting our stores to stock it now...
