I continue to gather tools as I go while going to hvac class and practice once a week, I've come upon the nylog sealant at the trutech website. Does anyone here use this on a regular basis?
I was going to order the blue and red bottle but in their description it says "compatible with all refrigerants" yet one says for HFC (blue) and the other CFC HCFC (red) on their label, so which is it? I would like it much better to just order one rather than carrying two bottles.

Thanks.

I just order the blue. I use it on my vacuum setup and when the tops of the service valves have small leaks, I use it like others use blue finger.

Other guys use it on flares too.

Ok so just the blue nylog is enough then.

Shcrader valves? Wow I thought the rule was to replace with new ones when they where leaking.

Thank You.

They came out with the two bottles because of the different oils used in refrigeration. But the POE based bottle will cover you for all applications, since the powers to be (refrigerant manufactures) finally realized POE will work in a systems. Mixed or not, just be mindful POE is a solvent and does a bang up job cleaning the system.

I'm waiting for it to be available in pink. :grin2:

Seriously, it's a great product.

If POE is a such a good solvent, why is it suggested for use on an automotive system conversion from R12 to R134A where there may be some mineral oil left in the system? OEM R134A systems use PAG oil. Seems like cleaning an old system isn't a good idea. It's like switching from non-detergent to detergent oil in your old car.

I thought all refrigerants were a great solvent. R11 used to be used to clean everything and R12 was a good solvent.
What are the opinions of others?

I would like to know where everyone hear this only use blue for everything? I use both. I am sure the manufacture of nylog would not waste money making both if you only need one.
