In the market for a new pump. Looking for something that's going to be reliable for as long as possible. Don't mind paying what I have to. Suggestion's?

Dude if you do a search you will find numerous posts on this subject. You should search on the hows and whys of vacuum also and you will see that bigger isn't always better. I have had JB, Yellow Jacket and Robin Air and all have worked well. Would say the first two I liked better than the later. I now own a JB platinum and a yellow Jacket and use them both we great success.

Quite a few of the guys I work with have Robinair Cooltech pumps model 15600. We've all had pretty good luck with them.

Changing the oil in the pump, and having a good vacuum setup are just as important as the quality of the pump. I usually use 1/2" and 3/8" hoses along with a vacuum manifold and core removers. It really speeds things up.

We have two Appion TEZ8s. Love 'em. Oil changes in 5 seconds.

I have the jb 10cfm and the robinair 5cfm. I use the robinair for back up or if I have to leave a pump running all night somewhere. I think I would look at appion before buying a new pump.
IMO..this is a much better pump. My first one lasted 12 years. I went through 2 JB's in three years. Went back to this.

The motor has a heatsink and a fan, and you dont have to worry about a start cap/relay burning out.

And probably then some.
Two Appion's are a weeks pay

I have the vacuum pump that is sold through united refrigeration, the in nrp globe saver i think its called.

I had no issues with it yet, its a120 or 208 volt, which saves a lot of time from having a hook up a cheater cord

i like the paint coating over the braze connections. i usually uses a grey zinc coating. to reduce the steel from rusting i have regular blue and grey spray paint for the dryers. a could reason for doing it as well is so a tech cant go behind you and tamper with your braze connection and say it was leaking. fill me in on your reason your painting over the things. what made you do it? just curious

Its to keep them from rusting. Technically if we're doing a pm, and we see a rusty drier, we're supposed to sand it down and paint it.

I usually put some tape over the copper ends, so I don't get paint all over the copper. Makes it easier if you have to unsweat it. Looks like I forgot to do that this time. :)

You're not supposed to unbraze a drier since it would release some of the moisture it has collected. Use tubing cutters whenever possible.

I have a cheap Master Cool single stage 6 CFM. I could not believe how fast it pulls down. I've seen it pull down a 20 ton package unit to 600 microns in less than 2 hours with 1/4 inch hoses and the schraders in.
