walkin freezer will not go below 15 degrees. Its running our r12. suction line pressure is 10 psi. discharge pressure is 195. the evaporator is freezing up three quarters of the way with a light frost. The condensing coil feels like it doesnt have a full charge. The sight class is full. the super heat is 5 degrees at the evaporator. why is the evaporator only getting 3/4 frost. And why will it not go down below 15 degrees. the units has a brand new txv that I adjusted already. The condensing coil is clean.

So, Why is your suction pressure so high?

Yes, but I mainly have experience in Residential hvac not commercial refrigeration. And In 7 years of residential hvac work I have never came across a unit that I had to mess with the running amps of a unit to get it to work right. That serves me right silly me tying to learn how to be a better tech with ppl who think they know it all lime timebuilder and coolerik. Thanks anyway

Really? The more information you have about a unit the better you can analyze it.

Amps helps us determin what the comp is doin,, u seem to have high head and suction, which tells that yer condenser is pluggged or somthin....over chargeed? Nonconfdessables..

Or that the airflow thru the condenser is low. Found a simular condition about 15 years ago the someone had mounted the fan blade backward.

My guess is that you have 7 years of installer labor experience, and no service experience. You need to fix that.

Follow the link below to apply for pro membership. In the Pro sections, we have more detailed assistance. We don't get into in-depth tech discussion in the open areas that can be indexed by search engines.

Clearly, if you don't understand current draw as a diagnostic tool, you will need access to the educational forums as well, and that opens with the Pro status too.

Good luck to you.

So, you come here to ask questions because you are not understanding what's going on with a system and then insult the intelligence of the people you are asking? :gah:
