I cleaned 2 ice machines today. I may never get ice from a restaurant again.
ice machines are nasty and i dont drink anything with ice at restaurants.

but the worst i've seen is the sewer backed up in the kitchen and they keep it open... hay check out those brown trouts :D

I didn't see anything wrong with it, they allow pets at work in Mexico don't they, well they just brought their pets to work.....................:D

I try not to eat resturant food......as often as possible.........

Ice machines are a wake up call first time working on them. I remember mine.

I thought that was disgusting until it came time to learn how to flush and clean draft beer lines in bars. Oh man that was sick!

I dunno what is worse the smell or the sight of it.

every place is run by people..

when you walk in and order look for signs..
dirty floors, tables.. does the person grab your drink cup from the inside, is there a sink visible, do they have trash piling up at the back door..

i walk out if i even think the place is dirty.. it should be clean clean clean..

look at the person behind the counter are they clean..

even expensive restaurants can be filthy..

i eat at Taco Bell and will keep doing it..

:D

They were just little Norwegian house rats......:p

Ya wanna see big rats you need to see dump or sewer rats, seen em in town and down at the Delaware river dump big as cats.

You want to know how to gauge a resturant, check out back, how they keep the dumpster, and the general area.

OR,,,,,,......

Accidently on purpose walk into the kitchen........:D

and hey wen you can have my share or rat at Taco Bell............:D

In all my years servicing resturants, I must say, the Taco Bells and KFC's where among the cleanest ones out there.

Still does not account for the crappy food they serve, but at least the place was clean.

Had Arby's yesterday for lunch... sat on the can from 9 til midnight... Honest I thought I had the flu coming... cold sweats, headache and all. Woke up this morning fine and had a great day... Probably the horsysauce (horseradish in mayo?). Last time I eat there.
With a name like gruntly, you gonna have the sheots! :D

C'mon, you guys are just being whimps. I've eaten everywhere, numerous times, without one thought about it. Life is too short to worry about such things. So 1 store had some rats get into it, big F'ing deal.

Remember what George Carlin said. He never gets sick because his immune system gets a lot of practice.

I'm the same way. I haven't been sick in 10 years, meanwhile eating the most vile, mass produced crap you can think of. I say "bring it on"!!!!!!

restaurants

I eat at the ones I work on. Yes some are cleaner than others. All are privately owned. There is a lot of difference between counties where health inspections are concerned. I chose what to eat and the time of day as a guideline. After you have been around you can smell a dirty restaurant but just because its clean doesn't mean the food is safe. That black rubber stuff in the ice maker is cold water algie and won't hurt you. It doesn't cause problems unless the build-up gets to where it falls in the ice. Just a different color than whats in an AC drain line due to the water temp. I have had people work with me that said they would never eat out again though. I only eat yard buzzard when cooked at home.

What a bunch of wusses. If you had any idea of half of the crap you eat, you all would become anerexic.

Hell, if the rats are that prevelant, I'll bet there is more "meat" in the meatsauce now. I thought some of those chicken legs looked a little strange. With enough extra crispy batter on them, who really cares what the meat is made of?

I did fast food when I worked for a few shops in the past. KFC here was the worst. I did em all. KFC, Mickey D's, Arby's, on and on. I cut my teeth doing resturaunt work. The people that work there, most of them can barely read. Inlcuding the managers. It's not like they come from good wholesome homes where they have learned all the basic principles of living morally, clean, ect.

On my own. I did some of the finest dining here in these parts. It would blow you away.

The restruants which were impeccable. Almost perfect, were the Chef who was the owner, who had like a Bistro, who catered only to high end. Smaller footprint, cared and had a passion for food. Now those kinds of guy were who you wanted to work for. They paid, wanted it done right and you could literraly eat off the floor.

I did a lot with Applebees, and Ruby Tuesdays. Now those places are not bad at all. They keep up on every thing. And it's a huge difference. The workers are paid better and it shows up in the way the kitchen looks.
