Trane XR13 vs American Standard Gold Si 4a7a

Hello
Been breaking my head on a couple of options at hand but cant seem to get the right answer

I have an option of a Trane XR13 vs AS Gold Si 4A7A - can some one tell me the difference between the 2 -

The other option I have is with either a Trane XB13 vs AS Silver SI - I know these are the same products

Finally if price does matter to me would i be prudent in taking a XB13 / AS Silver SI instead of the XR13

They are the same machine, different color cabinet. Over the B model, the have sound deadening features otherwise, the B models are mechanically similar. Between the 2 brands, the model #s will now be the same on the TTB.

So the Xr13 and the AS gold SI 4a7a are the same - thanks
The sound deadening feature on the XR13 is on the external unit ? i.e it is a little quiter than the XB 13 .
Having a 1996 unit now and it not bothering me - I wuld assume that the XB13 would not cause any concern

I would probably go with the AS Silver Si since the rep has been more responsive to me

That would be a good setup. I'd guess the feature you won't get with the B model is a swept wing fan blade. Those quiet the fan noise a bit. The A model with the recip compressors put a sound deadener around them but in the 3.5 ton, you should have a scroll compressor which is rather quiet. The A models don't cover them in the 13 SEER.

We suggest it and sell it to customers just about cost so they are protected. While you'll have 10 year parts coverage, labor is steep to make up for homeowners beating us down so much when they buy the system. :(
