Hmmmmm, no takers? Sounds like a great opportunity Frank. Unfortunately, I am prolly gonna be retiring in about 5 years and don't think I would make the move. Although hangin out at your adult beverage location might make it all worthwhile!!!!

Frank, it seems like you work for a really good company. They are hard to find these days. Good luck. I'm sure you shouldn't have any probs. finding some qualified techs.

To the guys discussing callbacks:

In a year with 2080 standard working hours, a 2.5% callback rate would mean you're spending an average of 52 hours a year going back on stuff you should have fixed right the first time. If I spend 5 hours going back on something, it raises eyebrows in my office. If I got anywhere near 7.5%, I'd probably be out of a job.

I'll get more info on it. It's somewhat complicated, there's a formula for the Christmas bonus based on callback percentage & other factors. Also non-billable paid rework time is considered our callbacks. If you can eat the time yourself it's a little bit of a break. A Unitary ST III (Tradesman 3) is allowed less callback than a Unitary ST II (Tradesman 2) and allowed more than a Commercial ST IV (Serviceman) would.

You let me know, Frankie, and that little US Mail truck will come bouncing over those RR tracks with a package for your boss!!!!

OK, here it goes. If you're the proposed Engineered ST V - Chiller Systems, your Christmas bonus could be as high as 10%. Remember some of the contributing factors are callbacks, gross profit, write-ups & a cap on the bonus of 2,000 straight time hours. We'll only factor for callback deduction, @ minus 2.5%. I believe that's the max for that Level. $88,100/yr for 2,000 hours, (10% - 2.5% = 7.5%), the bonus would be $6,607.50, remember gross profit, write-ups, etc., have not been factored.

Hypothetically speaking, one callback in 20 calls is not necessarily 5%. What if you run 20 calls averaging 2 billable hours a piece, and then have 1 callback that takes 40 unbillable hours to resolve because someone really screwed up?
