i tried putting them around the hoses but seemed too much in the way. maybe ill clamp them on the middle inner hose.
The way I have my DC hanging in my van... the clamps are pointed towards me as I would be holding the DC looking at the face. I have a 4 valve manifold and do not clamp them around the 3/8 vacuum hose... weakens the springs. I LOOSLY wind the wire around the clamp, and clamp it to a 1/4 hose. This way the wire stays out/way... yet does not bind up or stress the plug (the old plug is the weakest link on the 1200-1250). Thankfully Doug is fixing this issue.

It amazes me: There have been endless issues with literally every other digital gauge set... and the ONLY issue with the DC was the wire and plugs for the temp sensors. And the DC is by far the toughest head on the market... Yet the DC has a bad rap. :.02:

Jealous. There is nothing that good around here. I don't even have a mountain bike anymore. Just suffer through it all on a TrekMadone. Those trails are just gnarly. When I was a kid I rode a 20" bmx bike all over Mendocino County, Northern California. We lived up a 2 mile dirt road. Slick as snot in the winter and dry as a popcorn fart in the summer. I loved it, never had gears but routinely rode 20 milers.:hijacked:I could ride a ridge that was about 3 miles to a friends house. Amazing.

everyone with the digi-cools. how or what are you using to store the spring clamps? i have them clamped to the top of the drsa but think this isnt good for the clamps. let me know what you do.
I don't think you are going to hurt anything. The Digi-Cool clamps are beastly compared to anything out there. Has anyone broken the clamp part ?????

I thought something could be molded into the rubber boot to hang them but now that I see someone has used an idea like this it looks rejected IMO.

I've been messing with magnets to stick them to the gauge or unit panel/compressor or back of the truck or whatever but not much to show for it yet.

Some guys use a bag for accessories and slip it over the hook.

There is a place for everything in a Veto :)

when you get my age then you can use the word on occassion
Hey buddy......How's it?
I humbly have to defer to you Marvin. Anyone in his 70s that's still doing rooftop service calls daily has my respect and admiration Marvin.
You are a level of dedication and work ethic that our generation will never be... ;)

I hang mine loosely around the fittings going from the manifold to the rig. Seems to be working out so far.

Talk about bait... or dangling a carrot...

Personally... I am anticipating Doug's finest product ever... and I know we will have to wait a bit longer. The minor work-arounds we did on the DC's are trivial compared to the lack of accuracy and sloppy construction and non-ruggedness and failure rate of the competition.

Here is raising a beer to you Doug... good work and please keep it up.

Will give you a call Wed morning... to order my new AK and some parts.
Cheers guy!

Maybe an interesting development...

Ran into a buddy I used to work with at another outfit. He said everyone on the job he's on all runs on Testos, so he's shopping. I sang the praises of my 1250. He said he's on a budget. I broke out my iPhone and showed him the AK900.

What was interesting about this was apparently digital rigs are required on the remodel gig he's working.

Those of you that are still on the fence.... stand by.

happy i made your day , good try though .
I do not want to hurt your feelings young man... however:

In this business: The REAL knowledge and expertise is passed along from the experienced guys to the apprentices. And the SR guys choose who they will share with.

I wasted about a decade of my professional life thinking I was too good to listen... I wish I could get it back; as that arrogance ended up being self destructive.

This business is a LOT bigger than stuffing parts in a HO's unit and getting rich... you will find that out soon enough.

I wish you the best of luck young man... it appears you will need it.

I was wondering when that spec would come around... I guess it is showing its head over the fence. I suspect it will be a while before it becomes mainstream (outside specialty and BIG stuff)... but I do suspect a day where analog gauges are retired IS coming.
